About the Book

A fairytale romance blossoms set against a backdrop of pre-perestroika Russia as it emerges from decades of bleakness. Join a star-struck couple on a wild ride from their Soviet homeland to Canada, back to Russia and then to Cyprus.

Anton, handsome, talented and with fortune seemingly smiling on him, meets Nina, a beautiful and talented singer. They fall in love and marry in a matter of months, anxious to enjoy a bright and promising future. But real life quickly sets in. A musician’s life isn’t easy and the grasp for success painful. While Nina is prepared to work hard, knowing instant stardom is unrealistic, Anton feels entitled to fame and everything with it: money, luxuries and fawning fans.
When his dream fails to materialize in the dismal Soviet Union, he convinces Nina to emigrate to Canada and join friends they studied with.

A journey filled with love and promise turns into contentment and happiness for one person – and a spiral of destructive narcissism for the other.

Author’s Note:

Music of Wandering Stars PostcardI was going to call this book “Nina”. I started writing it show how one man could destroy a woman – while another could elevate her to glory. Then I began to wonder what would happen to a man like Anton when he realizes his discarded wife has become more successful than him? It became obvious he would become a real scoundrel and a miscreant.

The second part of this book is about how a human soul unravels and degrades. It’s the story of a man who’s ready to use everything and everyone – his women and his friends – in the pursuit of riches and power, because for him, any means justifies the end.
